David Moehring, AIA NCARB
David Moehring served for ten years as the Senior Capital Planner at the University of Washington Bothell. He has served as a volunteer with the City of Seattle Urban Forestry Commission. The majority of David’s professional architect experience has been in complex building design and renovations, academic facilities programming and planning, civic and commercial building design including new buildings in eight States and six countries. As a seasoned architect since 1989 and a resident within Seattle’s multifamily community, David has realized that the significance of both additional housing density opportunities and the urban forest are key in times of climate resiliency.

Jennifer Godfrey
Jennifer Godfrey likes trees, aquatic life, and the ecosystem. She grew up volunteering at a foundation for disadvantaged and marginalized youth, and attended free ecosystem and marine life rescue education programs.
Lois Martin 
Lois Martin
Lois Martin cares deeply about protecting Seattle’s trees and the neighborhoods they shade. Through her involvement with Trees & People Coalition, she supports stronger urban tree protections and works to ensure Seattle’s growth respects the canopy and the people who rely on it for livability.
Professionally, Lois leads a community-based early learning center and has spent many years in nonprofit leadership and civic advocacy. She brings a practical, solutions-focused perspective to urban forestry and believes responsible development must include real accountability for protecting trees.

Janet Way 
Janet Way
Janet Way, a member of the Trees and People Coalition Board of Directors, has been an environmental and preservation advocate for over 40 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Art Education and worked as a professional artist from her home Metamorphix Studio for 40 years.
She’s a founding member of the of Thornton Creek Alliance and Shoreline Preservation Society and served on the Shoreline City Council. She believes that Trees and Historic Preservation matter a great deal for a healthy community.
June BlueSpruce, MPH 
June BlueSpruce, MPH
June BlueSpruce has felt a connection to trees as kin since she was young. She has advocated for Seattle’s tree canopy for several years and co-founded the Trees and People Coalition. She worked in health care and public health for decades in a variety of roles and views trees as an essential part of Seattle’s public health infrastructure. As a long-time activist, June has fought for women’s rights, queer rights, and the survival of our democratic form of government. As a writer, she has published scientific papers, poetry, and nonfiction essays. She is a 40-year resident of Seattle’s Rainier Valley.
